Oil is coming out of gear case vent what could be the problem?

If you're not willing to give any sort of details, you should expect answers that make no sense.

Good luck.Oil is coming out of gear case vent what could be the problem?
It's over filled. If it's an automatic the fluid level is checked with the engine running and in park. We really need more detail.

If you are talking about a transfer case in a 4WD then the seal between the gearbox and transfer case is blown and the gearbox oil is leaking into the transfer case and overfilling it.Oil is coming out of gear case vent what could be the problem?
you are not giving me much to work with, if it is over full it can start to leak out of any hole that is below the level. or if the box gets over heated, any of the oil that has vaporized will leave through that same hole again.
i,ll take a guess because your not telling me very much. it could be overfilled.
