What wt. oil in gear case?

o4' YZ 85...dealer says 10/40 ? thinking it should be a bit heavier...any ideas??

Are you in a warm climate, or running this as a track bike?? IF not, you should always stick to the oils that are recommended stock, for tyhis is what the designers had in mind, the 10-40. Fuel mileage and power, and sometimes ease of shifting, will suffer if you put a thicker viscocity oil in than whats supposed too be.





Although, If you want too add anything extra special, I would change it out for some synthetic oil, which is ALWAYS better.
