Weres the gear oil on a kx 85?

i looked infront of the kickstart today on the right handside of the bike and below and thers a little rubber cap which i twisted off and noticed theres nothing in it is this where the gear oil goes or jus the oil for the bike and wat do i need to put in it jus 2 stroke motorcycle oil? plz help asap thx deanWeres the gear oil on a kx 85?
The cap you mention is to fill the crankcase (transmission).


Use ordinary 10W-40 4 stroke motor oil.


You can't see any oil, because the oil level is near the bottom and the clutch blocks the view.Weres the gear oil on a kx 85?
In the clutch cover. The fill plug is at the top of the clutch cover near the kick starter. If the fill plug does not have a dipstick on it, there will be screw in the side of the clutch cover near the front about half way up from the bottom. You pull that screw out to check the oil; if oil comes out that hole, it is full. The drain plug is at the bottom of the engine. The kind of oil you can put in is either Golden Spectro gear oil or regular 10W30 motor oil, whichever you prefer to use.
