Gear oil weight ???

Can someone tell me what the gear oil weight is in a 99 civic ex with the d16y8 engine?Gear oil weight ???
it does not take gear oil. if you put that in you will kill your tranny. honda has special oil for standard trannys. its like $4 a quart. you need 2Gear oil weight ???
i've heard that it is comparable to 10w30 engine oil. but i've never used that. for the 3 dollars a quart the genuine honda mtf costs i just buy it.
