Does anyone know where the gear oil goes on a 92 Yamaha TDM 850?

the TDM has a combined engine and gearbox and they share lubrication.


Depending on the age and model the oil tank is either located on top of the engine. or under the seat behind the engine next to the shocker!!!


Mine is a VD3 and the oil level is checked by removing the seat and checking the oil level on the dipstick in the tank.


Just to warn you it is essential to keep an eye on the oil level and to change it regularly ( on all bikes) but especially the TDM
