90 weight hypoid gear oil?

My owners manual specifies 90 weight hypoid gear oil for the live rear axle. But nobody in Los Angeles/Orange County has this stuff on the shelf anymore. Will the new 80-90 weight hypoid gear oil suffice? If yes or no, why is that the case?90 weight hypoid gear oil?
A boat dealer probably will have it. Try and find the 90 weight.90 weight hypoid gear oil?
most likely the reason you can't find 90W is that most if not all places carry synthetic which is usually a 75W-90. there is no reason you can't use this in a differential. in recent years many fleets have been draining the 80W90 and replacing it with synthetic.
It should, since the 80-90 weight gear oil is close enough.
