What kind of oil is used in a 2000 Tahoe transfer gear box?

You may call it a transfer case or four wheel drive gear boxWhat kind of oil is used in a 2000 Tahoe transfer gear box?
more than likely its 80w90 gear lube

and probably a synthetic

however some of the newer manual transmissions and gear boxes use automatic trans fluid

you can open the access plug and take a look to see if its ATF or gear lube

also you can ask the guys at autozone or Oreillys they have the ability to look it up for youWhat kind of oil is used in a 2000 Tahoe transfer gear box?
It takes the exact same stuff that your transmission requires (ATF).
If its a manual transfer case it takes 75w90 pref synthetic. If its an automatic or electronic transfer case it takes gm synchromesh II fluid. The Blue stuff.
